Code of Conduct
Coaches in the Catholic School League should
be mindful of their role in the lives of the players that they
coach, as well as the lives of others they influence, by the
very fact that they hold a position of authority and respect.
Coaching Responsibilities to Players
Impart a complete and appropriate knowledge of the game
Teach the individual skills of the game
Develop each player's self-esteem
Teach players to be winners as people not winners of games
Act as a positive Christian role model at all times
Coaching Responsibilities to Officials
Know the rules and regulations of the game
Understand the job of an official
Support officials with the respect due their role at all times
Never publicly criticize or mock an official
Raise concerns properly (by mail to the appointing authority)
Coaching Responsibilities to Parents and Fans
Model Christianity in world and deed on and off the court
Promote positive play rather than negative commentary
Address concerns politely and courteously
Raise concerns properly (School AD, League President)
Coaching Responsibilities to the League
Know, understand and implement the philosophy of the League
Know and carry a copy of the rules of the game
Publicly support athletic directors and all league officials
Raise concerns properly (School AD, League President)
